The Five Steps

I believe that long-term strength comes from cultivated ground and properly planted seeds. We must focus on the culture and the individual in our goals to strengthen Africa. ## Build Culture

Culture is the root of vision. Ideas come from partners that trust and communicate.

Too often, we do what our parents did. More broadly, we are empowered or constrained by the culture within which we are taught to think. We need diverse circles of influence to help us find our joy and potential. I want to interweave the professional experience from industrialized nations into the fiber of the African employment market. By weaving, we can build culture and provide a vision of potential.

  • Can we confirm a communication of ethical intent?
  • Can we envision a world of potential instead of despair?
  • Can we build relationships where both parties trust?

Local Networks

We must find partners integrated into African industry to provide growth within the continent.

To build employability, we must have connections to local employers. To empower wealth for the entrepreneur, we need to address the customer’s needs. We need partners connected to the local markets that can help us know the hireable needs.

Skill Integration

Learning internships move academic learning to industry-based skills.

Traditional four-year degrees build a foundation but often leave little structure for the learner to signal they are ready for industry. We can leverage recent certificate or degree earners who are so often left with little employment as a pool of ‘interns’ where we can provide learning ‘internships’ to structure the skills for employability.

We need skill-building experiences that move Africans to the next level of employment and earnings. We can’t be satisfied with six-month opportunities or remedial employment tasks in search of low-wage workers.

  • Can we use a learning ‘internship’ model to skill up capable African talent?
  • Can the employment build into more skilled employment?
  • Can we find Industrialized partners that will sponsor internships?

Empower Locally

Keep the employment, work, and wealth in continent.

Remote work is essential to growth as it provides culture and skill development. However, remote work does not cultivate the soil of Africa. We must find a way to bring leadership, investment, and growth in continent and in communities. We need models that build local strength and growth as partners with external investment.

Repeat Pipeline

A culture of leader and skill development by Africans perpetuates the growth.

  • Can we start our investment with the understanding that our stars must return the investment?
  • Can we expect the same gift received to be given?
  • Can we grow a self-sustaining system?
